The Australian Skin Cancer Foundation - Our Chosen Charity

Its important to give back and what better way to do that than donate $1 from the sale of EACH sunsmart shirt we sell to ASCF.

Facts

  • Australia and New Zealand have the world’s highest incidence of melanoma and melanoma is the third most common cancer diagnosed in Australia.
  • Most skin cancers are caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays.
  • Around two in three Australians will develop skin cancers in their lifetime.

Its important that we help foundations like this one provide support for those diagnosed with Melanoma and their families, help them get out in the community and educate people of the dangers of Melanoma, fund research and drive advocacy.

As parents, aunties, uncles, siblings and friends its also important that we raise awareness to all of the kids in our life by educating them on the importance of SLIP, SLOP, SLAP and making sure we all set good examples to our future generations.

In November 2022 I took part in the first leg of Jays Mission Melanoma Walk. Its a fundraising event where Jay and his team walk from Canberra to Sydney in 10 days. We walked for all those effected by melanoma. Along the way we visited 2 primary schools to raise awareness on living a sun safe lifestyle and getting regular skin checks. It was an absolute privilidge to walk alongside so many amazing people who shared their story about how melanoma had effected them.
